PAGE 2 of 6 - The compressor
Ok, I've got the air accumulator and fits to my requirements. Now i need an air compressor. Usually, this is the most expensive part. But one day, i was in a shop looking for something, and saw an air compressor for car tires, it was on sales - I got it for some 8.5 Euro. I had no idea what i was going to do it by then, but now i do!
According to the specifications:
Operation voltage: 12V
Max pressure: 18 bar
Max continuous operation: 10 minutes followed by 20 minutes cool down

50% of its volume is thin air... The real compressor is a small mechanism inside |
Obviously, this won't last a life... |
It is a piston pump... |

My next addition will be the smd pick-and-place, for which i already have the pump (USD4) and a manual dispenser (USD 2) which i will hack. Both the solder paste dispenser and the pick and place will be housed under the same box, will have the same foot pedal for operation, and will have a switch to choose which one i currently use.
