AndyO from digital diy made a new project with PIC micro. He got himself a couple of scroll-up-down rotary encoders and run some tests with them. Finally, he made a circuit with a PIC 18F1220 and a 20 by 4 LCD display, that counts up and down, according to the scroll of the encoder. What i adore in this project are the digits on the LCD. I mean, look at them! They are awesome! I will use this design for my projects as well! He wrote a very nice page for those who want to use such components. Visit his site to see how these rotary encoders work and how can they be interfaced to a PIC.
thanks for mentioning this andyo.
Regarding the digits, notify me when you post them. I like them! Dd you design them yourself?

Glad you like the digits! I will try and post the code for making them over at digital-diy.com in the next week or so for anyone who wants to copy.
Just to clarify, digital-diy.com is not my site. The site is owned and run by Graham who's the guy who has written most of the content. Any member (like me) can submit articles and projects - come and check it out!
